To help you understand and avoid falling victim to this scam, we will explain how this scam works, the effects it can have, and what steps you can take to protect yourself.

What Is Fedex Illegal Parcel Scam?

The FedEx Illegal Parcel Scam is a fraudulent scheme where scammers copy FedEx employees and law enforcement officials to trick victims into believing they are linked to a package containing illegal items, usually narcotics.

Victims receive a call from someone claiming to be a FedEx representative informing them that a package connected to their Aadhaar number has been intercepted. The scam escalates when the call is transferred to a supposed police officer who demands sensitive information and pressures the victim to pay a hefty fine to avoid legal trouble.

How Does Fedex Illegal Parcel Scam Work?

The scam starts when you receive a phone call, email, or text message from someone claiming to be a FedEx employee. The message says that a package addressed to you has been seized because it contains illegal or suspicious items. This claim is meant to shock you and grab your attention.

After the contact, the scammer connects you with a fake law enforcement official. This person acting to be a police officer, customs agent, or another authority figure that supports the seriousness of the situation.

They threaten you with arrest, legal action, or fines, making you believe you are in serious trouble.

To resolve the supposed issue the scammer will demand payment. They say you need to pay a fee to avoid legal consequences or to clear your name. The payment is requested through methods that are difficult to trace, such as wire transfers, prepaid cards, or cryptocurrency.

Also, the scammer asks for your personal or financial information and claims it’s necessary to verify your identity or process the payment.
